We are recruiting for a postdoctoral position in my group as part of a CRUK Programme Grant led by Prof Deborah Goberdhan, with myself and Prof Adrian Harris as Co-Investigators. If any of you know of individuals who might be interested in a post of this kind, please forward the details to them.

The work involves using genetic and cellular approaches to investigate how exosome secretion is controlled in flies and the roles of the microenvironmental stress sensor mTORC1 in this process. Newly developed super-resolution (3D-SIM) and real-time microscopy techniques will be employed in flies to test genes associated with regulation of exosome biogenesis and to characterise the underlying cellular events involved, using the new secondary cell model we have pioneered. The successful applicant will also interact with members of the Goberdhan and Harris labs studying translational aspects of the same processes, particularly in relation to cancer progression..

The post is funded until 30 November 2018, with the possibility of a 2-year extension. The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 7 June 2017.
