[Lfm] CoVID-19

Dear All
this email is not about flies but CoVID-19. I am writing to this forum because it is biggest forum I am in touch with.

I am wondering whether like me  you are surprised about the decision of the government to do minimal testing for the virus : effectively they test only those that are ill and in hospital. WHO is urging all countries to do as much testing as possible.

The scientific community would have a very large capacity  to carry out tests for the virus, and we could set up a system where members of the public could send  swabs to be tested. Of course there are very major  logistic steps to take but I think it is case of 'where there is a will there is a way’

Probably this kind of thinking is happening in other online groups (please point me to them if it is the case)  but I was wondering what anybody thinks about this and whether they would be interested in forming a group prepared to take on such an initiative.

Sadly, we have taken the decision to cancel the March and April LFMs, which will probably not come as a surprise to all of you.
