Dear all,

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to join our team (Martins Group at MRC Toxicology Unit, University of Cambridge) as a research assistant.  Our group focuses on pathways of mitochondrial toxicity and uses Drosophila melanogaster as a primary model.  We study gene-environment interactions using flies, cultured cells and data analysis approaches with the objective of understanding molecular mechanisms with relevance to human diseases associated with mitochondrial toxicity.

The post holder will work closely with other members of the group using approaches such as fly genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, microscopy and data analysis.  We encourage applicants with experience in Drosophila genetics.  The funding is available for 2 years in the first instance.  There will be opportunities to apply for competitive Ph.D. funding from a motivated individual.
