Drosophila offers major advantages for neurobiological research due to the wealth of genetic tools to observe and manipulate the nervous system. We aim to provide a venue for wide-ranging discussions and interactions between junior and senior researchers in an inclusive interdisciplinary environment that will allow the exchange of results, ideas and new concepts. A wide range of sessions will include Developmental and cellular neuroscience, Brain homeostasis and metabolism, Brain disease, injury and ageing, Gene expression and molecular neuroscience, Neural circuits and behaviour, Plasticity and remodelling. ?????We have lined up eight wonderful plenary speakers and the rest of talks will be selected from abstract submissions, allowing exciting, emerging research to be presented by early career and established researchers. We will also have a practical demo workshop on bridging connectomics and transcriptomics. And fun activities, including a trip to Stratford and the gala conference dinner. Registration is now open, with an early bird deadline of 16 June 2024. Please be aware that lecture theatre capacity is limited: please register with time to avoid disappointments. Please visit: neurofly2024.org Please feel free to print the attached poster to advertise along your corridors and to forward to your teams and colleagues. Neurofly2024 and the University of Birmingham have a sustainability plan to help reduce the impact of the conference on the environment. For details, have a look here. Most importantly, don't forget to bring your past Neurofly bags (if you are lucky to have one), as there will prices for the oldest bag and the lab with most past Neurofly bags. For practical issues, if needed, please contact the conference management team at: academic.conferences at contacts.bham.ac.uk Please forward this message to your labs. Looking forward to welcoming you to Neurofly2024! Best wishes, Carolina On behalf of the Neurofly2024 Organising Committee -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I am reaching out to you today regarding the upcoming elections for the European Parliament, which will take place from June 6th to 9th, 2024. https://elections.europa.eu/en/ Our research community and capacity are profoundly influenced by political decisions, making it important to support policymakers who prioritise discovery research. I encourage those of you who are eligible to vote to consider the positions of your local candidates on science, research, and innovation. I know this information can be difficult to retrieve, and I appreciate that the political landscape and pace of change can be frustrating. However, amidst ongoing neuroscience advocacy efforts, voting is something within our individual control that can make a difference. For those unable to vote on this occasion, your engagement and fostering awareness of the elections in your local community holds immense value towards our collective goals.
