[Lfm] European Drosophila Society best PhD thesis prize

Dear LFMers,

On behalf of the selection committee, I would like to draw your attention to the Best PhD Thesis Prize announced by the European Drosophila Society (EDS) to recognize and reward outstanding work performed by PhD students in life sciences using the Drosophila model.

The selected Awardee will deliver a keynote presentation at the European Drosophila Research Conference (EDRC) in Alicante (September 25-28, 2025) and receive a €1000 prize. The conference fee, accommodation and travel expenses will be covered.

For the current call, nominees must have completed and defended their PhD work in the calendar years 2023 and 2024. This means that the oral PhD Thesis defence must have taken place between January 1st, 2023, and December 31st, 2024.

I encourage you to submit nominations for your outstanding PhD students and share this information with your colleagues and potential candidates.
