Hi all,
A reminder that the next LFM meeting will be on Tuesday 10 February 2026 at UCL in the AV Hill lecture theatre in the Medical Sciences Building: https://maps.app.goo.gl/cGqUeFiGnSAptuZ17. The Medical Science Building crosses above the main footpath through campus. If coming in from Torrington Place, you will need to go under the building and take the staircase behind you as you come out. Access to the Medical Sciences Building is free to all, but someone will be at the entrance in case of any issues.
The talks will start at 13.00 with each talk lasting 25 minutes. There will be a coffee break from 14.40-15.10 and the talks will finish at 16.25 for drinks and pizza. There will be seven speakers in total, in this order:
Rhian Walther: Morphogenesis from the ground-up: A novel role for Laminin in coordinating cell shape remodelling in epithelial development (Pichaud lab, UCL)
Jia Chen: Integrin Signalling and Intestinal Epithelial Cell Polarity (St Johnstone lab, University of Cambridge)
Sean Hubbert: ExTaSy: A swappable CRISPR platform for endogenous tagging in Drosophila melanogaster (Centre for Functional Genomics, Oxford Brookes University)
Martina Legido: Damage recognition by intestinal stem cells via Draper-Src-Shark-STAT signalling promotes adult Drosophila midgut regeneration (Patel lab, University of Bristol)
Shajahan Anver: Reduced rRNA synthesis extend lifespan in flies (Alic lab, UCL)
Yu-Chien Hung: The role of photoreceptor neuronal activity in Neurocalcin-mediated sleep in Drosophila (Ko-Fan Chen Lab, University of Leicester)
Yutaka Matsubayashi: Integrin- and C/EBP-dependent 'molecular logistics' for the coordinated development and function of the basement membrane and tissues (School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Bournemouth)
If you haven't done so already, please could you let us know if you plan to attend by responding to the Eventbrite invitation in the link below:
