[Lfm] Postdoc position at Oxford Brookes

Dear LFMers,

We are looking for a full-time postdoc to join our labs in the Centre for
Functional Genomics at Oxford Brookes University for 1.5 years to work on a
BBSRC-funded project to create a library of transgenic flies with
endogenously tagged transcription factors. The successful candidate will
play a key role in creating a unique functional genomics resource for the
Drosophila community and will gain extensive experience in state-of-the-art
genome engineering, transgenesis, chromatin profiling, and large-scale
resource generation. The project offers excellent opportunities for
publication, collaboration, and development of leadership skills valuable in
both academia and biotechnology.  

The main tasks will include cloning of transgenesis constructs and
generation and validation of transgenic flies (injections, crosses).
Additionally, the postdoc will perform basic characterisation of select fly
lines using immunostaining and CUT&RUN. They will oversee the main lab work
and collaborate closely with the other team members (two technicians and two
research fellows). 

An ideal candidate would already have experience with Drosophila genetics
and fly transgenesis. 

The annual salary is £36,636 (rising to £39,906), and the start date is as
soon as possible.
