<p class="MsoNormal">The fly as such does not need much introduction; it has served the scientific effort (and the careers of scientists) long enough one might think. But still ….. given the sheer multitude of unknowns (both known and unknown ones) and the
potential of, and need for, innovation and disruption… I would suggest to take a second or third look at what. Maybe it is time to reinvent – or recreate – the fly. This can take many shapes and forms. One of which
<span class="SpellE">is</span> the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt">avatar</span></i>. The ‘humanised’ fly, if you like, which bypasses (or flies around) many technical and regulatory hurdles put
in the path of a deeper understanding of life, or aspects of the human condition, such as deafness.
