Subject: Shields and Sang M3 medium
Dear Nic
I am writing you because I would like to circulate an inquiry email in the fly community in London.
Our lab heavily uses a cell line derived from follicle cells called Ovarian Somatic Cells, OSCs in short.
They are delicate and we have only been able to culture them with the Shields and Sang M3 medium.
But, recently, Sigma and other producers stopped producing this medium and they don’t know when they will start making it again.
I wonder if anyone experienced the same and found an alternative or could recommend similar medium to try.
We tried the Schneider’s medium, but it did not work.
I would be grateful if you could circulate my email to the London fly community.
Many thanks
Rippei
