Dear fly pushers,
I just wanted to spread the word about this Keystone virtual symposium that I am helping co-organise:
https://virtual.keystonesymposia.org/ks/live/653/page/5413?_ga=2.122269901.773499410.1614961576-564790250.1612282933
Unlike previous metabolism meetings, this one aims to depart from the usual disease remit (e.g. cancer metabolism) and bring together fields and scientific communities that do not often interact: yeast, flies, worms, mice... development, physiology and disease. Our speaker lineup is stellar: fly representatives include Aurelio Teleman, Alex Gould, Norbert Perrimon and Tadashi Uemura.
Unfortunately, because of both this and the American fly meetings going virtual, their dates now partially clash, so we worry that the fly community will not be as well represented as it would have been. So I am writing to encourage any adventurous students/postdocs/PIs amongst you who may want to broaden their horizons beyond flies to apply and showcase the cool work we can only do with flies! One of the silver linings of this virtual world is that you can be in both places at the same time... so pick and mix! (if your boss is willing to pay ;))
The deadline for poster submission is in a few days - March 10.
Thanks and hopefully "see" some of you there!
Irene
